  • Who was Netaji Palkar :

            Commander in chief (sarnaubat) Netaji Palkar was born in the year 1620 in Khalapur which is near the Raigad district. Netaji Palkar was the second commander in chief of the Maratha Empire. Commander in chief Netaji Palkar lead many battels from year 1940 to 1955. He had great contribution in the rise of Maratha Empire.

            One of the successful campaigns was killing of Afzal Khan with Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Netaji Palkar's Popularity was so good that many peoples called him a replica of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 

            In the treaty Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had to give 23 Forts of Swarajya to Mughals and fight against Adilshahi.  Commander in chief joined the Mirja Raje (Adilshahi) and  weakened the mughals upto great extent.

  • What happened to Commander in Chief Netaji Palkar ?

            In the year 1666 Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj met Aurangazeb at Agra Fort. But he was house arrested by Aurangazeb at Agra including his son Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. 

            When Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj escaped the Agra fort Mirja Raje joined the Mughals. Aurangazeb said to arrest Netaji Palkar at the Agra Fort. 

  • Conversion to Islam :

            After arresting Netaji Palkar was forced to convert into Islam. The Mughals said to marry his wife again in Islamic way. The new name of Sarnaubat Netaji Palkar was Mohammad Kuli Khan. After some time he tried to escaped but was caught in the lahore region. He fought for Mughals in the Kabul. After he was sent to fight against Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with Diler Khan in the deccan region. 

             Coming to the Deccan region Netaji Palkar Joined the Maratha Forces going up on the Raigad Fort. Seeing Netaji Palkar again Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was very happy. He requested to reconvert him to Hinduism again, While on other hand as always the Bloody Brahmins opposed this..

  • Reconversion to Hinduism :

            However Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj converted Netaji Palkar again to Hinduism with great pride. Finally after many years he returned to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. After the reconversion he fought many battles and had a great impact in expanding  Swarajya. 

  • Achievements and campaigns :

            Commander in chief Netaji Palkar fought many battles in year 1665 to 1670. 
Commander in chief Netaji Palkar died in year 1681 at the age of 61.
